Such Faith

The Gospel of Saint Luke, chapter 7, verses 1 to 10, is read today. It is all about a simple yet powerful faith in Jesus and His tender merciful Heart, which is touched by the people's misery. It is all about Jesus' praise of such faith and His rebuke that He did not find such faith in the Children of the Chosen Nation:

On The Mountain

We spent the whole day on the mountaintop with the Lord in the Mystery of His Sacred Heart. Challenging day for me pastorally as a retreat master and the only confessor available for today. Thanks be to God, everything went as planned, people attended very well the second day of the peregrination of the Jubilee Cross in the parish.

House Of Wonders

The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is an open invitation day for all to enter the House of Wonders - the Human Heart of Jesus, True God and True Man. On the second day of the peregrination of the Jubilee Cross in our parish, we will spend the whole day at the feet of the Cross, meditating on the Wonders of the Sacred Heart of the Lord...

I read once somewhere about the people traveling from one location in Sahara desert to the other, and when they car broke down, they were found dead several days later. They died of dehydration, though they forgot that they had enough water to survive in the radiator of their car...

Ur

On this day, exactly twenty years ago I left Europe and the world known to me - my personal Ur - and began my journey via Swissair from Rome to Dar es Salaam via Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, towards the Promised Land - Tanzania. I did not now what to expect and what God had called me for in Tanzania back then. I did not know if I manage to be a missionary in Africa. Twenty years later, the picture is clear and some answers to my questions have been already given...

Good bye, the Year for Priests!

 

Tomorrow is the official closing ceremony of the Year for Priests. How fitting the date! The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. And who, if not us, priests, are suppose to strive with all our strength, resolve, hope and love to ask Jesus, The Most High Priest of the New Covenant: "Jesus, meek and humble of Heart... make our hearts like unto Thine!"
