Last Visit

Today was marked by two last visits to various health specialists. The last one was with the leading doctor who collected all documentation from the entire period of my medical checkups and procedures. She is the one responsible for laying out the way forward. She is the one responsible for issuing prescriptions I need for the next few months ahead. And she did just that.

I am happy and relieved that this three month period of countless visits to doctors, hospitals, specialists is finally over. It is not over for addressing my health shortcomings, but anyway, for now we are done and the outcome is not bad if not positive in general. I am positively happy and full of hope.

Now is the time to buy medicine prescribed and start packing before I begin my journey first to Colombia for the Congress of Divine Mercy and then back to Tanzania.

Opportunity

As the famous saying goes - "Troubles are opportunities in disguise", I guess it's quite right. At least as far as my ay today is concerned. Grounded home with malaria, fever and recurring from high blood pressure, I found myself in dilemma what to do with a sudden gift of free time I would spend working and doing different things today. The health trouble became an opportunity in disguise to do something else. So I spent the most of the day reading the 'Light of the World' (the latest book-interview with the Holy Father Benedict XVI) and in the meantime working on crude ideas for my new book I am going to write and publish this year - Holy Rosary meditations based on the Rosary Garden paintings themes (the Rosary Garden was my last project before I was transferred from Musoma Cathedral back to Kiabakari in 2006) and anchored in our daily life which I intend to present at a certain angle which I will not disclose at this point of time. Thanks be to God then for this unexpected opportunity to set in motion various things I would not even think of due to the lack of time and pressure I feel racing against the time with the ongoing projects in my mission...

'W' Hour

'W' hour has finally arrived. The Wedding Hour of my close friends. Marta and Daniel. It seemed an eternity since they called first back in early February, asking me to bless their marriage today, on August 7. I refused at the first instance as there was a bishop's canonical visitation planned for this week supposed to end tomorrow. And it is never easy to change such a huge agenda as this. But, as Marta was full of hopes that God will do miracles, He surely delivered miracles...

Two Weeks

Counting days till my short trip home. Just two weeks left. I have to admit that this time I am truly looking forward to those three weeks spent home with Dad and my close friends. And - of course - two major reasons to undertake this 'flash vacation' are a wedding of my friends and my medical checkup in hospital, as I still do not feel confident that I am on a right track to recovery...
