Last Piece

A New Year has dawn and with it a new challenges. Among them - a recollection day each and every Friday throughout the entire year. And in each instance - a spiritual talk which I intend to give to the participants which number varies from Friday to Friday, depending on many variables. Usually, I would plan a series of talks hovering above and touching a certain theme. In some years I would exclude Third Friday of the month for a special guest coming to lead the recollection / retreat day and give a spiritual talk along the theme chosen for Third Fridays of the month in a given year. And this is what I am going to do this year too...

Sign Of Contradiction

These words derived from today's Gospel reading of the fifth day of the Octave of the Nativity of Christ (Lk 2:22-35): “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted (and you yourself a sword will pierce) so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” - evoke forceful memories of the retreat the Holy Father John Paul II gave to the Holy Father Paul VI and the Vatican Curia back in Lent 1976, which was turned into a book after that (in many languages, I think; I know personally of Polish and English translations). That book, that retreat made a lasting impact on me and my personal spirituality as I went through it and meditated upon it when I was a seminarian and in my priestly life as well... I believe it is worthwhile to find this book in Catholic bookstores or online.

At Last!

What a day of accomplishment and overwhelming joy! I have just come back home from the meeting with my publisher, having been on phone conversation with a printing house for the last few days. Finally, after eleven months of hectic work on the book, I can fill my eyes with the view of my new book and lay my hungry hands on it, feeling it, unwrapping the foil, touching its hard cover and holding like a long awaited guest! The book is just a work of art. Designers from the publishing house and the quality of printing is simply stunning!

Final Proofreading

Woke up alive this morning and checked my emails. Wow! Got two of them from my publishing house in Kraków - Wydawnictwo Petrus - with my book divided into two parts for easier downloading. Still, I don't know how it was possible - with this slow network speed here in the mountains - to download two parts, 6 Mb each! It must have been a miracle...

So, I guess, today, apart from seminar proceedings, in my free time, I will do some serious proofreading and checking the final shape of the book, with its layout, pictures, everything. Wish me luck! Some 600+ pages plus more than 500 pictures. A mountain to climb!

DVD on Kiabakari

My new book, soon to be available in bookstores, will have an extra incentive which is a DVD produced by a friend of mine and myself last year in June. This is a short concise story on Divine Mercy vision in Kiabakari - its origin, beginnings, history and present state...some 29 minutes of intense footage.

It has been aired on TBC1 -Tanzanian national television - several times since July 2009. I've received overwhelmingly positive feedback from viewers throughout Tanzania.

Its success made me to decide to include Polish subtitles and prepare it for Polish market as well. English version is underway as well.

Each copy of the book will have this DVD enclosed as a free gift. It is my hope that moving pictures will speak volumes and make worthy supplement to what I've shared in the book itself.

Between Tabor and Golgotha

So happy and relieved that finally my new book (kind of a diary or memoirs) after long process of proofreading and checking and cross checking pictures and their description, has been sent to the printing house. Hopefully by the end of this month the book will be on shelves in bookstores. Inshallah!
