Upper Room

I am sitting in the upper room of the rectory of Ulmerfeld parish in diocese of St. Polten in Austria, in my best friend parish, focusing on the notes for the upcoming parochial week-long retreat in St. Kazimierz parish in Kraków, my home parish, as a preparation for the visitation of the picture of Jesus, the King of Mercy (4-5 June). The retreat will begin this Sunday and I am deeply grateful to Fr. Wiesiek for the opportunity of three calm days in his parish to work on final shapes of the spiritual talks. Please, pray for the parochial community at St. Kazimierz and myself - may the Holy Spirit guide and enlighten us. May the Holy Spirit enable me to speak only what God wants and may these words penetrate the deepest cores of the faithful hearts and consciences. As always, I will pray in a special way for all of you, my esteemed readers. God bless and protect and guide us all!

Pictures, Pictures!

As promised loooong time ago, that I would post pictures from the peregrination of the Jubilee Cross in Kiabakari, I wish to fulfill the promise as I finally got charger for my macbook and am able to access photos on HDD. So, here we go...without special chronology, presenting a few pictures:

Images

Just a quick info that I will post a lot of pictures from the peregrination of the Holy Cross in the parish once the charger of my macbook is working again (it is being rewired at the moment in Musoma and hopefully will work). So, God willing, by the end of this week or on Monday I will post a special photo report of the visitation of the Cross in our districts and outstations.

The Last Three Things

"At last St. Gemma got her house she was waiting for for so long..." said Sr. Mary, the local superior of my sisters' community, smiling broadly and clapping hands. I have never seen her so jovial and happy. No wonder, I was ballistically happy and wanted to jump with joy, relief and satisfaction... Today is a day I have been waiting for far too long...

Reliving The Past

Living in Tanzania for twenty years now and witnessing the wind of change sweeping through this country and East Africa, I found it extremely stimulating and interesting to go slowly through a set of vintage photos recently published by the National Archives of the United Kingdom. What a marvelous piece of photo evidence of the yesteryear...of the past that is on side long gone and on the other side still present and alive in people (some of them) I personally know. This is the link to the website with those photos. Tanzanian album - which is the fifth largest in the whole archives of photos from colonial era Africa -  is here. A sheer pleasure to relive the past!

Photo Albums

Not sure if you know about the existence of my photo albums webpage in the Internet. There are so far more than 4,000 pictures in 81 theme albums organized chronologically. Though the webpage needs an update (the last two years), still it is worth giving it a quick look to know the history of my life and missionary vocation in particular, and thank God for His Mercy and blessings in my life and lives of others I am honored to serve. So, welcome to the world of pictures, and enjoy!
