'I think I like what I see' - I murmured to myself upon opening the attachment of the email of the creators of the internet gateway to Kiabakari who sent to me another version of the main page. I liked the way they translated my vague ideas into something creative. I hope by the end of this year to have an internet hub with all pieces together in one place. An official website of Kiabakari with interactive info on Comprehensive Vision of Kiabakari, Divine Mercy shrine, Health, Education, Parish, Sisters, Foundation Kiabakari, Guests/Volunteers and Development Projects. Hilarious, Inspirational, Sarcastic, Deep - All In One Blog

Just to share with you my light moment that occurred right now when I stumbled upon a Tumblr blog of one theologian with a deep and hilarious sense of humor. Posting amazing gifs in his blog which make me crack, laugh, enjoy and at the same time they make me think, inspire me and give food for thought. Obviously, it is not intended for stiff people with no sense of humor who get offended easily on religious basis. Hope you are not one of them, otherwise do not click here!

Radio Bonus

Yesterday I had an opportunity to talk a bit on various issues concerning myself, my vocation, silver jubilee, my missionary vocation and work, Kiabakari and Divine Mercy and so forth during a radio interview at internet Radio Bonus  in Kraków. The excerpts of the interview have been published just a while ago at the Archdiocese of Kraków portal www.franciszkanska3.pl. The link to the article is here.

For those of you who would like to listen to the recording, I was told it would be aired tomorrow, Friday, May 10th at 5pm Polish time. I was told also that they intend to publish the audio file of the recording, so those of you who cannot access the radio at that particular time, could do so at their convenience.

Home Page

Just to let you know that I have just begun to work on my home page www.wojciechkoscielniak.pl which has been left hanging by me for a few years now. I had no focus strong enough to sit down and take care of it, but I feel as my Silver Jubilee of priesthood is approaching, I need to have this home page done and fully functional. I hope this intention is not a short lived anymore and with the help of pros it will be become a nice online place to visit. A hub for all my other websites, blog, audio and video sites, photo galleries etc. Please, keep your fingers crossed that this initiative lives till the final success.

I have added a new feature on this blog. SoundCloud service may be well known already to many of you, for others maybe not so much. This is an internet service where you can upload your sounds, share with others or listen to other people's audio creations. I must admit it adds quite a new perspective to the social communication among people. It adds also a new dimension to my apostolate and relations with my friends and readers. The ability to upload sounds - be it a homily, church song, sounds from real life, audio productions etc - opens up for me an excellent opportunity to share with you audio treasures I have saved on my HDD already and to upload in the future new creations. You will find a SoundCloud upload button in the right sidebar below my personal links. If you wish to share with me your sounds, you are welcome. Using spare snippets of time these days of Lent to clear my photo albums on my macbook. Well, sorting out oneself spiritually, morally and physically in this sacred time involves also sorting out, clearing the mess and making some order in the house, clothes, papers, books and photo albums as well...

Vodacom Thumb Down

So, what if they can produce beautiful professional commercials and flood the market with billboards and PR stuff drawing customers' attention if the reality of their deteriorating services speaks quite a different story? Vodacom may seem to float towards the buyout by Vodafone as they already have changed their logo to what is - in fact - Vodafone logo per se, but the quality of their services is going downhill day by day. I am not sure to what factor it should be attributed, but it looks like they draw lots of new customers, but the infrastructure of their system is lagging behind big time...

Bless Me iPhone For I Have Sinned

Just read the news on BBC about the iPhone/iPad application developed for those who want to prepare thoroughly for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The link to the article is here. I can imagine how much confusion this app will stir especially among those who are not Catholics or are Catholics who do not go to confession often. They may think this application will substitute the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I guess pastors should be ready to inform properly on this issue as the hot topic of old - that of the validity of confessions through the internet or phone conversation may rise up again and cause a lot of chaos.

Technology Leap

Where are we heading? I wonder...

When I arrived first to Tanzania in January 1991, things in technology and communication field were galaxies apart from what we have now at our disposal...

The only means of communication back then was a simple humble letter which I wrote to my parents, drove 40 kilometers to Musoma Post Office, posted it and waited for three weeks to get home to them. Then another three weeks of patient wait for their reply to get back to me, driving to Musoma to check the box in the Post Office from time to time...aaah, a genuine school of patience!

Oh, yeah, I forgot about a phone. In order for 'ET phone home' thing, I had to inform the operator that I wish to call home. Then waited till he/she succeded in connection. It could take a few minutes up to a day or two in bad cases...

Now, at this very moment, I'm in my bed typing this post on my iPhone and - once I'm done - will send it via email and it will show on my blog as a post! Technology leap of cosmic proportions in a span of twenty years!

The other day a friend of mine asked a question on Facebook: 'Who else is using a laptop while sitting in a  toilet?' Give me a break! Yet it was a quite sincere inquiry...And....surprise, surprise! He got a lot   acknowledgements! Looks like we are many these days not only reading books, newspapers or magazines while in a chamber...things have become more severe - texting, calling, internet browsing, working on spreadsheets, reports etc is a quite common feature now...

Hmmm, think about those muscle cramps sitting for long time doing some serious work on a laptop forgetting you are long done down there...yikes!

Ok, at least I won't have any muscle cramps composing this message. Set horizontally and comfortably in bed, watching some funny YouTube video on the phone in the meantime, replying to emails, sending texts
all over the world and listening to some soothing music I downloaded on iTunes...

Imagine, what you can do these days with this mobile phone thingy! Online banking, sending and receiving money, paying for utilities, gaming, working on office applications, keeping up with your tight schedule using clever notes/to-dos/calendar applications, checking weather forecast wherever you want to, chatting, taking photos and videos and posting them online, you name it!

I need to pinch myself from time to time to remind myself that I am still in the same place where I was writing those simple, humble letters and waited for six weeks to get a reply...just two mere decades ago...

Yet, sadly, those days, when I really felt so far far away from home are gone forever...and with them that feeling of adventure and survival mode kind of a missionary life...
