It gives me immense pleasure and warms my heart to be asked by my relatives, loved ones and friends - from all over the world - to offer a Holy Mass for the intentions dear to their hearts. This noble and holy task entrusted to me - raising to the Lord their worries and hopes, their persons and families, the matters of their lives - is a holy duty I gladly accept. It is a pure honor to do so and I feel privileged, through the power vested on me by the sacred order of priesthood, to be able to elevate them and their intentions in my hands and in my heart up to the Lord in the Holy Eucharist, in this most sublime and the most powerful prayer the world of faith knows...
Whenever someone asks me to say Mass for her/his intention/s, I feel needed. I feel connected in a special, sacred way. I feel trusted. I feel close to her/him/them...
Since yesterday I started a series of a few Masses asked for by my close and beloved friends from Poland. I rejoice wherever they write an email to me asking for this favor. This is so important - to exercise our common faith in Eucharist and its power, in priesthood and its power, in God Almighty who is able to address all our problems and worries, accepting our gratitude for granted blessings as well...
The need of every priest is to be needed. And offering Holy Masses for the intentions dear to hearts of my loved ones and friends, fulfills in a special way this need.
Thank you all, who need me!
Greetings Wojciech- I like to say hello weekly and let you know how much I enjoy reading your entries on blog.I don't need to do any spiritual reading as I can get it on your blog now!!
ReplyDeleteYou had some lovely reflections on women and the photos of the African women were splendid. You brother's art, while it reminded me a bit of Picasso, was quite unique.
I was filled with grief when I read about the poor people who were killed -kind of linked to witchcraft; it was shocking to imagine and so foreign to us here. No wonder the miracle cup man attracted so many followers - people have great need and unfortunately are very vulnerable in these situations. We have a similar type of scenario here whenever a ' faith healer ' emerges and people flock to him/her looking for miracles. But our transport system is never blocked like it seemed in Kiabakari.
The only time our country came to a standstill was when the great Pope John Paul visited Ireland. Everyone who was mobile went to see and hear him - He was so revered and held in such high esteem by the Irish. His beatification will be a momentous event - I checked the facebook and youtube when you mentioned them .
Happy St. Patrick's Day on Thursday - we will be united in spirit. The shamrocks are in blossom and we will all be wearing them. I was telling the Polish mothers I work with here, to bring their little ones to the parades as they are very colourful and a great community celebration. Not that they can compare with the way you celebrate in Kiabakari - but at least we make an effort . May you have the luck of the Irish as they say here and may all your efforts be richly blessed. It was great to read that at last you got the water tank completed which is such a crucial facility for your centre. Soon you will have the convent finished and that will be another thing off your 'to do list' . Love and Irish smiles from all the Daly clan .
Yes, tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, very important one for me too. The day to reconnect in a special way with you, Tom and all my friends in Ireland and abroad. Will offer a special Mass tomorrow for all of you, who are my family. Have a great celebration and God bless you much!!!
