The Presentation

Tonight I had an opportunity to share some insights into the personal and missionary experience of Divine Mercy in Tanzania during the meeting of Cardinals and Bishops with the continental and national coordinators of World Apostolic Congress on Mercy.

Speakers who wanted to share similar insights were many thus we were allocated just a few minutes. This forced me to cut short what I prepared on behalf of Divine Mercy followers in Tanzania. Here I present the full text of my presentation.

Pharmacists Of Kraków

Yesterday I had an opportunity to celebrate the Holy Eucharist for the community of pharmacists of the city of Kraków and Małopolska Region. The Holy Mass and the following meeting with dr Jadzia Żyłka (former doctor volunteer administering the health center in Kiabakari in the period of 2009-2010) was held in Capuching church in Loretańska street. It was a wonderful experience for me. And here is the text of my homily:

Polish Day in Dar

Just a few pictures from the evening meeting of Polish Ambassador, Consul and Commerce official from Polish Embassy in Nairobi - with Polish community in Dar es Salaam on December 14, 2012. A very good idea of mobile consulate in Tanzania, which helps us living in Tanzania a lot. And an opportunity to know better each other.

Diocesan Synod

The Bishop of Musoma, Rt. Rev. Michael Msonganzila, announced his intent to open diocesan synod on July 12, 2012, on the day of the priestly ordination in Musoma Cathedral. He elected 28 members of the preparatory committee. I found myself included. Today we had the very first meeting of the committee, chaired by the Bishop himself. I must say that it was a very interesting experience and I felt the presence and the work of the Holy Spirit himself. Synodal works were set in motion, various small theme committees were established. I hope and pray the Holy Spirit will firmly guide us and keep us focused on what is important for this time in the Diocese of Musoma. I have high hopes after this meeting. Please, put this important ecclesiastical event which will last till 2014 in your kind prayers! God bless the Synod! God bless the Diocese of Musoma! God bless us all!

In Retrospect

Friday was the second day of my short visit to Ireland. My hosts planned a full day of meetings for me. In retrospect I must say that I received more than I was able to give those whom I met in various places...

Sitting Allowance

The Members of Tanzanian Parliament may be in hot water discussing the constitutionality or not of their sitting allowance and other benefits, dragging the whole society into the heated debate. But in my little remote corner of Tanzania and the world, I ask myself only one question this morning - will my body give me enough sitting allowance to attend the important meeting of the parochial council with some crucial agendas that cannot be postponed or moved ahead bit further...

Meetings

The day of several crucial meetings and visitors. My head is already spinning and still there is one more meeting 'sine qua non', but so far I have been very pleased and happy with the day's proceedings!

FM Meets AM

That is exactly what happened this evening when I held a meeting discussing several issues and matters with no apparent consensus or understanding. It felt like trying to catch FM radio stations on AM only wavelength radio... Futile effort. Still not losing hope for coming up with some working solutions. Prayers appreciated!

What You Have Said Is True

Still under deep impression of today's Gospel reading. Samaritan woman meeting Jesus. She presented herself in truth in the eyes of Jesus and earned His praise. He did not condemned her for inappropriate behavior, for having many husbands and for living in a relationship without valid marriage. He focused one her opening to Him in truth. The truth of a woman met the Truth Incarnate...

Genetic Engineering

I was simply not engineered by God (with cooperation with my parents) to withstand meetings longer than one hour. Today, the day after the hectic and tense day of the official opening of the main water tank (check my previous post), when I usually suffer from 'the day after syndrome', feeling blue and down and exhausted, I had to participate in the diocesan meeting of headmasters and managers of all diocesan schools (pre-schools, primary schools and secondary schools) at Conference Center of Diocese of Musoma in Musoma Municipality...

Diaspora

Just came back from a very interesting and mind and heart stimulating meeting with my compatriots living in diaspora - or just happening to be due to the character of their work in this part of the world, with global angle in their attitude and lifestyle. Still under deep impression, this unexpected and unplanned - in its timeframe and setup - meeting gave me a lot of personal satisfaction and joy, several layers of food for thought and caused a genuine admiration for those brave ladies I was blessed to meet and share thoughts and opinions on broad spectrum of life agendas over a nice lunch in downtown Dar es Salaam, together with my Tanzanian friends, including my friend and artist, Florian. Surely, my family of loved ones and friends expanded today with the priceless gift of friendship with them, which I will try to repay in kind through my prayers, well wishes and blessings for my new friends. It amazes me on daily basis how wonderful this life is when one is open for new challenges, new horizons, new friendships and humble enough to accept them with open heart and mind. Thank you, Lord, for this undeserved and unexpected wonderful gift!

Money

At times like this, I feel so disappointed and flabbergasted... Jesus warned us long time ago: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat (or drink), or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them.  If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink?' or 'What are we to wear?' All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil." (Mt 6:25-34)...
