Meetings

The day of several crucial meetings and visitors. My head is already spinning and still there is one more meeting 'sine qua non', but so far I have been very pleased and happy with the day's proceedings!

Everything is ready for my first guests who will stay in newly renovated and refurbished St. Martha House. Today Susanne paid a surprising visit, bringing two new computers for volunteers who will help in John Paul II Center for Education and Formation. I am so grateful to her insightfulness seeing the communication needs of volunteers who want to stay in touch with their loved ones and the world, working also on their projects and preparing themselves for various tasks which they will be undertaking. Thank you, Susanne, for your caring heart and magnanimity!

Susanne set the computers, checked them with pre-installed software which she did herself as well. The volunteers rooms look quite impressive, I must say!

We have finished also setting the kitchenette of the house, so St. Martha can be semi-independent, if the volunteers wish to cook for themselves from time to time in their house and dine in the veranda watching the sunset...

I have just finished important meeting with the executive committee of the Lay Parish Council combined withe Liturgy Committee of the Parish, planning ahead for the peregrination of the Jubilee Cross in our parish from June 30th till July 16th. It took us several hours to set the guidelines and priorities and allocate days for all locations in the parish to receive the Cross and stay with it, while praying, celebrating sacraments and receiving blessing from the Crucified and Risen Lord. I really look forward to this sacred event, hoping earnestly that the presence of this sign of selfless love of God will bring spiritual renewal of our parish, which we need so much, somehow tired with daily struggles and responsibilities...

Now, yet another meeting with Sister Mary, our local superior of sisters, who will start her long journey to Zambia first, then to Poland, to celebrate her jubilee of 25 years of consecrated life. We need to discuss various topics as she will be away for three months and schools must operate as usual. We need to see how to utilize our volunteers, how to merge their willingness and skills with our needs in pre-school and the primary school. Plus other issues which need to be talked about and decided.

Very long day today, and I feel mentally exhausted. But I like this kind of tiredness which comes from being busy for good causes and for my people. Thanks be to God for the gift of this day and so many good people coming, bringing blessings, worthy thoughts and taking part in our communal concern for this tin part of the global Catholic Church.

Stay blessed!
