Countdown
Since the day bishop of Musoma passed by shortly before Christmas and we were able to set the date for the opening of the St. Gemma Galgani Convent in Kiabakari (which I've been 'doing' since I returned from my North American fundraising trip, the time I live in now is nothing but a countdown to that day, April 10th. Living under one roof with a multitude of sisters is difficult enough for anyone, living with them for more than a year is a heroic feat, believe me. I am aware this time was difficult for sisters themselves as well. I hope Merciful God has pity on me and help me to finish this project as soon as possible and make sisters move to their new house. I hope too He considers this time spent together with sisters in my house as a sufficient equivalent of Purgatory and grants me a straight access to Heaven after being able to withstand the pressure and challenge of living together with this flock. Countdown continues... The day of freedom is coming...

Greetings Wojciech - I see you have had enough of community living!other clergy would love the idea of women looking after their needs and cooking their meals but you need a bit more space given the hectic life you lead. Sorry you are so burdened with bouts of poor health and hopefully your new drugs will help. The day of your demise is well off so keep healthy. You are the rider on the storm and you have made some stormy journeys overthe past 20 years.Great having your classroom ready for standard one - this is a marvellous achievement ;bringing education to these little ones. I marvel at your courage - you start with one classroom- here nothing starts until whole school built. I hope the water situation has improved - it is dreadfully having to cart so much water and takes so much time and energy. I hope your Polish volunter who had the accident with the injection needle is making progress - that was a very worrying situation for you all. I note you mention St. Agatha as not getting much attention in the missal - well there is great controversy here over the new transaltion of the Missal due to be in use next Advent. Even the Association of Priests say it is elitist, sexist and archaic !!No problem where you are but here how liturgy is presented in words carries a lot of weight. I think ROME will have to think again. The German bishops are not introducing it for 5 more years - I guess it will be 10 before Tom presents it in Togher!!!Thinking often about you and your mission and people. Look after yourself. Love from all the Daly clan
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what this fuss about the new translation of the Missal is, to be honest. We are using the same old missal done some twenty years or so ago and no one pays any attention to its texts at the same level as you, guys, seem to be paying over there...
ReplyDeleteStarted the new drug for high bp and it feels weird, like I'm on marijuana or something, dizzy and bit relaxed...
No water still, though they say they paid the outstanding bills already but to get water up the hill here I will have to use my ways, talking euphemistically...
My house is too small to attempt living a community life. Especially with the community of nuns who have their own way of life. I need living space and serenity, and the noisy behavior of other people annoys me. The life here is noisy enough outside, with all music around, shouts, construction site, meetings, people around, so my house I like it to be quiet, then I can recover and restore my inner balance. Since the last year I was denied this and that is why I become more and more sick as I have no space to recharge my batteries. Hopefully, there is only one month or so left, and I will regain this space for myself. And, I don't think I need someone to cook for me fancy foodstuff - I am content with whatever there is, and I like to cook myself, which I am looking forward to once I get full control of my kitchen. I hope to slow down a bit due to the health issues and get busy with something giving me little pleasures in life as reading and writing books and cooking.
MY regards and love to all my family in Ireland!
