On this day the Catholic Church celebrates the 19th World Day for the Sick. The day our thoughts and heart make a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France, to Our Lady, the Health of the Sick, to join other pilgrims present their for their annual pilgrimage, and with Her and through Her intercession, we meet anew the sick living among us, we pray for them, renew our commitment to assist them as best as we can, and we pray also for people of health services worldwide, thanking them for their professional work and sacrifices and surrendering their efforts to the Lord for a special blessing...
In Kiabakari we have a regular Friday recollection day today concluding with the Holy Mass and Divine Mercy chaplet for the sick and the staff of our Blessed Pier Giorgio Health Center. My foundation Kiabakari donated for this occasion polo shirts for the staff of the health center as a token of our appreciation for their commitment and quality service they have render for the local community since 2008. Apart from this, I will celebrate a special Mass today at the Divine Mercy Hour and also this Sunday we will have a special Mass with the communal celebration of the Sacrament of the Sick for those members of our parochial community that carry their cross of old age and sickness.
