It started innocently, just like that... At first I noticed first graders stopping in their tracks on their way to our school as I was celebrating morning Masses in February, when the first grade class opened at that time... Some of more curious and inquisitive children would stop initially near the school and just stare wondering what was going on up the hill in the bright lit chapel in such an early hour of daylight...

Saint Hedwiga
It might have been Saint Stanislaus, bishop and martyr, Solemnity in Polish Church yesterday, but for us it as a grand day of celebration of Saint Hedwig (Jadwiga in Polish, Hedwiga in Swahili) as we gathered together at Buturu, the outstation of Butiama Parish, in the vicinity of Chief Wanzagi Girls' Secondary School, some 10 kilometers from Kiabakari, for the solemn blessing of the recently constructed church, the fruit of work and dedication of many, under the guidance of the parish priest of Butiama, Rev. Father Maciej Braun, CR (visit his blog here)...

The Last Three Things
"At last St. Gemma got her house she was waiting for for so long..." said Sr. Mary, the local superior of my sisters' community, smiling broadly and clapping hands. I have never seen her so jovial and happy. No wonder, I was ballistically happy and wanted to jump with joy, relief and satisfaction... Today is a day I have been waiting for far too long...

Because there was no room for them in the...
...chapel. This is what I found today as I drove to Kamugegi village, some 7-8 kilometers from Kiabakari. The last rains were too much for the grass roofed mud bricks tiny chapel we were using for some time now as people try to raise funds to build something more solid... So, instead of celebrating today's Mass in the chapel, we were forced to go to the nearby school and use one of the classrooms for the Holy Mass....

Prayer Room
Just came out of the prayer room, after saying the Divine Mercy chaplet and praying a bit for various intentions, located near dayrooms, where I checked in after wandering aimlessly, tired and unfresh after all night flight from Dar es Salaam and trouble at the airport here in Zurich, having missed my connecting flight to Warsaw and being forced to stay the whole day and night till tomorrow morning when I will hopefully conclude my air travel to Poland...
