I liked the lively and cheerful Mass at Zanaki parochial church. I liked the presence of all priests in the deanery (we are five altogether). The sisters from Chief Wanzagi Girls' Secondary school were present and Carmelite sisters from Butiama as well.
Mare & Mare could not miss this opportunity to experience the liveliness of the festive celebration like this today. I guess they were happy to be there and also at Butiama where we went with the Cross to begin its journey in the Small Christian Communities in Butiama vast parish.
The high spirits and emotions ended on low note though with Marianna catching a stomach bug, probably from the food we shared after the Mass in Zanaki parish. We suspect the beans.
So, the hospitable parish priest of Butiama, Fr. Maciej Braun, CR, took care precautionary of all three of us - Marianna, Marija and myself - treating the potential threat with a nice Miodonka (honey alcohol made in Poland) and some Irish coffee, which greatly enhanced our worried moods and dispel all heavy thoughts.
We came back home happy and content. And I'm sure the stomach reaction has been completely cured with the miraculous elixir applied to us by our host in Butiama...
