You've Got To Move It, Move It!

Revival of the parochial family in Kiabakari in the Year of Family includes holistic revival of various apostolic groups and movements. Among those - vocation groups (altar servers and non-altar servers), youth groups and associations.

Our altar servers decided to get rid of laziness and started regular training before any serious attempts to check their skills with other football youth teams in Kiabakari and the area. Luckily, we have several sets of football jerseys, so their internal test matches can be played in full 'combat' attire. The older boys jerseys came to us through courtesy of our former German volunteers - Denise and Thomas. The younger boys jerseys I got years back, even before I was transferred to Musoma Cathedral in 2002. The pictures below I took before their training matches a couple of weeks ago. The little ones played in small teams on small pitch.

Girls' vocation groups is not forgotten either. I have just finished laying out of the netball court with professional goal posts, traced the lines and checked on the stock of netball jerseys. We have plenty of netballs courtesy of Australia, seven sets of netball jerseys. Some of them will go to our primary school, the rest will stay with parochial girls' teams.

We plan to have a all-parochial tournament in football and netball starting in September with the climax and finale on the Feast of the Holy Family on December 28 this year.

Altar Servers Happy Day

Indeed, a very happy day for my altar servers who received a wonderful gift from parents of our German volunteers who visited Kiabakari recently and brought a lot of things for the school, health center and also for the parish. We are very grateful to them and their friends in Germany who magnanimously donated all these valuable gifts. Thank you, Denise and Thomas, our volunteers in Kiabakari, for spreading the word and involving your families and friends in caring for Kiabakari.

Symphony

This is exactly what it was tonight. A symphony of perfect football from my boys, FC Barcelona. I just can't believe how comes Man United became champions of Barclays Premier League this year with this kind of performance? They simply did not exist tonight. Well done, Barca! Cheers!

The White Star

Watching highlights of my home town football (soccer in USA) team - Wisła Kraków - on YouTube and walking down the memory lane, when I was like those fans waving scarves, singing their hearts out and displaying their pride in love of their team... I never was a hooligan, just a pure fan, fully dedicated to Wisła, but never despising any other team nor their supporters. I'm not a bandwaggoner as many of football fans all over the world, including African fans, are, jumping from team to team, supporting only those who win... I stick to my team in good and bad times. This is Wisła Kraków, this is Liverpool FC, this is FC Barcelona... You can say whatever you want to explain your bandwaggoning. To me, the real fan stay with his/her team forever. Like in a good solid marriage!
