Apology

I wish to apologize to all readers of my blog for keeping silent for so long. The Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy with the duties arising from it, along with development works in Kiabakari and my pastoral and spiritual duties as the Missionary of Mercy have contributed to my inability to continue with the regular service in this blog.

I do hope though that with the end of the development projects at the end of the next month together with the closure of the Jubilee Year I will be able again to share with you what is important in my life and service as a priest and a missionary in Tanzania - on more regular basis.

I pray always for you, and in particular in this extraordinary time of grace and Lord's Mercy. May He be your never ending reward.

Misericordias Domini in aeternum cantabo!

Volunteering in Kiabakari - North American Chapter

I ask all my friends to have a kind look at the website/blog below (click on the caption below the picture to access the blog) and help if possible this young brave lady who dreams about sharing with us in Kiabakari her time, talents and professional knowledge she has acquired through her studies. She will be the very first North American volunteer in Kiabakari. Keeping my spiritual fingers crossed for our future guest! Welcome to Kiabakari, Emily!

PayPal

You may have noticed a new addition to this blog - on the right sidebar, just at the top of it. The donation button from PayPal. Some of my readers have been asking me how I can cope running this blog knowing the internet data packages charges in Tanzania and elsewhere. They suggested to place the donation button in the blog so people can donate a bit to help me to make ends meet. Moreover, I would like to use donations to enable volunteers coming to Kiabakari to have free wifi by purchasing a mobile wifi router which are now available in Tanzania and keep it running by purchasing voucher cards to top up credit in the router. So, if you feel giving us a hand in this, you are very welcome. I will appreciate greatly your kind support.

Poland, Wake Up!

It is so annoying to see the inability of my Polish readers to get the upper hand on Canadian peers who still lead as we speak by two mere IP addresses in the United Nations of Kiabakari list. I know we cannot overtake NSA-Snowden-USA leading pack, but, please, come on, Poles! Get your thumbs out of… and do the job!

Hilarious, Inspirational, Sarcastic, Deep - All In One Blog

Just to share with you my light moment that occurred right now when I stumbled upon a Tumblr blog of one theologian with a deep and hilarious sense of humor. Posting amazing gifs in his blog which make me crack, laugh, enjoy and at the same time they make me think, inspire me and give food for thought. Obviously, it is not intended for stiff people with no sense of humor who get offended easily on religious basis. Hope you are not one of them, otherwise do not click here!

Laki Moja

In Swahili, 'Laki Moja' means one hundred thousand. I have noticed that the pageviews of my blog have just exceeded this number. I am not sure if my readers come here by mistake or led by simple curiosity, googling, searching for something they look for or they come on purpose. It does not matter to me, to be honest. I am deeply grateful to each and everyone of you for coming and being a part of my life and my work.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I pray for each and everyone of you and for all intentions dear to your hearts, as a token of my appreciation and gratitude.

As I wish to continue writing and sharing with you in this place, I ask you to continue with our journey together. God bless you much!

Synodal Website

I would like to draw your kind attention, my esteemed readers, to the newly established website / blog of the diocesan synod in Musoma Diocese, recently announced by His Excellency, the Bishop of Musoma, Rt. Rev. Michael Msonganzila (July 11, 2012). The first meeting of the members of the synodal steering committee proposed the set up of the website of the synod and a bulletin/newsletter as well. I am happy to invite all of you not only to pray for the success of the Synod, but also to participate in it actively via the synodal website http://sinodimusoma.blogspot.com. I would like especially to encourage readers inhabiting/belonging to the diocese of Musoma - to take active part in the works of the Synod. Your prayers, comments, opinions, remarks, proposals, ideas and participation of any kind is crucial to the success of the first diocesan Synod of Musoma Diocese. God bless the Synod! God bless Diocese of Musoma! God bless all of you, my esteemed readers!

New Volunteers

I expect to welcome two new volunteers in Kiabakari, coming from Germany, through the same Internazionalen Bund organization that sent Denise and Thomas last September. Franziska and Tobias Breitfeld will replace Denise and Thomas who will be going back home after a full year of genuine commitment, hard work, dedication, going beyond their duties and showing remarkable talents, skills and sense of responsibility for our children and the ability to blend in perfectly in our parochial community. It is my hope that new volunteers will follow in their footsteps, building on the solid foundation of priceless legacy that Denise and Thomas will leave in Kiabakari.

Our new volunteers have just started blogging. This is their Kiabakari experience blog: http://breitiandfraegokiabakari.blogspot.de/

On behalf of the whole Kiabakari community I wish them God's blessings in their preparations and every success in their voluntary work for the benefit of the young generation in Kiabakari.

Clean Up

Finished my morning duties - morning confessions and Holy Mass for catechumens, vocational and Holy Childhood groups, then confessions and a Holy Mass in Butiama (the parish priest, Father Maciej is away for a few days, so I've been helping there for the last three days), then a meeting with a preparatory committee for the upcoming popular mission parochial retreat in June (as a spiritual preparation for the bishop's pastoral visit in the first week of July)...

Polite Notice

This is just to let you know that I will be going for medical checkup tomorrow and the regular service on the blog may become erratical or new posts missing for a few days or so. Please, pray for me and keep your fingers crossed so that the outcome of the checkup is encouraging. Thanks in advance for your kind support!

Anniversary Gift

Twenty one years ago, exactly to the day, I left my Homeland for missions via Ireland where I spent three months, practicing my English, before heading to Tanzania to join my fellow countrymen who were already there working as Fidei Donum missionaries (diocesan priests sent to help in the mission countries). Grateful to God and people for the past amazing years, in which I was blessed to taste the whole spectrum of human existence and feelings, from euphoria to despair, from victories to failures, meeting wonderful people along the way and serving to the best of my limited abilities, I am proud to present the special anniversary gift I wish to share with you.

Chakula

This is a word for 'food' in Swahili language. For those of you who would like to know what we eat in Tanzania, they may be very pleasantly surprised how diverse, tasty and fantastic our Tanzanian cuisine is in reality. Check this link on my volunteers from Croatia blog, who have just posted new item on their blog dealing with their Tanzanian cuisine experience. Buon appetito!

Desperate Housewives in Kiabakari

Mare&Mare just finishing the setup of their blog. They described themselves in their blog as Desperate Housewives in Kiabakari, hence the title of this post. The link to the blog, which I encourage all of you to follow, is here.

Over Fabulous Cake

M&M did a great job right at the beginning of their voluntary service in Kiabakari. They volunteered to cook a lunch for us and sisters. And they delivered great pumpkin soup, great biscuit-cream-jelly-fruit cake plus some other stuff like potato salad, fruit 'kompot' etc done by Aurelia, my housekeeper. It was a fantastic treat. And while I was giving the ladies company in the kitchen, serving as an ad-hoc translator to facilitate communication between Aurelia and M&M, we talked about the blog which many in Croatia, Poland and elsewhere were asking for, sharing with the wide audience the daily life and service of M&M in Kiabakari and Tanzania...

Dilemma

Sitting in Musoma, somewhere in shades, working on my macbook and wondering what to do with the blog to take it to another step, to higher level, to improve it, to go deeper and broader... Inspired by comments I read somewhere, I feel challenged after one full year of keeping this diary of my daily life, ups and downs, struggles, joys, failures and small victories... Wondering if I should migrate to other blogging platform, especially after last week crash of blogger.com... I know I am a beginner, a novice in this area of activity, communication and sharing... Just a good will is not enough at this point of time. I need some fresh ideas, mental challenges, guidance... I hope I'll get one...

Clean Up

I'm done for now with the design of this blog which, after major clean up, changes made and introduction of pages (menu) at the top resembles a private website rather than a regular blog. Anyway, if this is a direction I feel I should take, so be it. Hope you like the new design, color pallette and menu. More so, I pray that what I share with you, makes positive impact in your spiritual, private and professional life. God bless us all!
