It Is Done

Two vehicles vanishing in the distance, carrying the Jubilee Cross and the representatives of Mugango Parish which is the next stop in the itinerary of the Cross in the Centenary Year of Christianity in Diocese of Musoma. Whispering to myself - 'it is done...'

Thanks be to God for the perfect last day of the seventeen day journey of the Cross in our parish. The very early start to the day with private moment at the feet of the Cross in my house chapel, then transferring the Cross to the shrine. The first Mass at 7am with three couples making marital vows and 18 children baptized (two did not make it on time). Then priests (nine altogether), sisters and representatives of deanery of Butiama and of Musoma parishes. The High Mass of the farewell of the Cross, long and eventful homily of the parish priest of Mugango, handover prayer, final blessing, short lunch in the courtyard of my house for some 150 guests. Then a goodbye to the Cross and two vehicles driving away on their way to Mugango. And me going back home, whispering to myself - 'its is done...thank you, Lord...now your will be done with us, let the fruit of the Cross shine forth and lasts forever'... There is nothing left in me, feeling spent till the last breath. Subdued happiness and satisfaction, relief and gratitude, clad in tiredness and weariness. But it is done, we did whatever was possible under circumstances. May the Good Lord accept it and fill whatever is lacking in our efforts. Prayed a lot for all of us and our intentions.
