Surprises

As I have sensed and predicted, based on my experience, the first day of the seminar on spiritual warfare brought some surprises. The seminar proceedings are the same as on previous occasion in April, but since the participants are different, the response is quite different.

Right after the morning session which lasted 1.5 hours, I divided the sisters in five small groups, asked them to choose leaders of each group and secretaries, then divided homework papers to each participant. There was a drawing on the A4 size paper and the question - to point out all angels and demons one encountered on their way from the first vows up to now and what angels and demons one predicts to deal with on their way towards the golden jubilee of religious vows. I asked them to do the homework privately first for an hour, then come back with their papers to their respective groups to draw up, after another hourly discussion, a joint paper.

What has happened in the afternoon debriefing session came as a surprise to all. The response to the homework was overwhelming. The session which was planned for just an hour, took us two solid hours to finish - reading all findings of each group, writing down all points on big sheets of paper, then sorting out and collecting the data under relevant chapters. Then the short summary which I gave based on the outcome of joint effort. Then the silence fell in the conference hall...The result of their joint work came as a sheer surprise to all of us. People realized that the 3/4 of all demons they fight with in their lives comes from within themselves and in their congregation. And yet they were able to spell out all remedies and medicine that is sufficient to conquer those dangers. Most of these remedies are in the power of each one of them to use, without depending on the congregation or outside help. This was truly shocking to all.

I concluded the debriefing session with these words: 'Now you see! Stop blaming everyone and everything for whatever bad is happening to you and your congregation. It is in your power, strengthened by the close bond with Christ Himself, to make a difference. So, instead of cursing the darkness, light up your candle and shine!"

Second day of the seminar starting in a half an hour. Looking forward to more surprises as the Holy Spirit guides us where He wants Himself to reveal the truth about us, our communities and the reality surrounding us.

Praying for you much!

  1. I am intrigued by the title of the seminar - spiritual warfare ; we tend to use the word discernment and seldom use the term demon but there is a load of stuff on angels , even angel therapy. It is not a term we would use but as you spell it out it all makes sense. There is an old saying 'The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know' but it tends to refer to living people!!!(not spirits). It seems a good journey the sisters.are on.
Looking forward to reading this great book of yours in English - Congratulations, it takes a lot of effort and genius to get a good book into print. Your next book can be 'My experience of Africa' , that would be real interesting. And when you're dead someone will write a book called 'Africa's experience of Wojciech' and that will be a best seller !!!I love the daily postcard from Kiabakari ; they are so unique and illustrative of Africa life.

  2. Since yesterday internet connection is non existent. Typing this comment on my mobile, which is strange as this is my tanzanian mobile - working on roaming with safaricom and safaricom modem is not working at the same time. Frustrating. No new posts till situation improves then. Lena, thank you for your kind comment. I do hope this seminar and retreat which starts this evening bring something good to sisters. They deserve it. Malaria struck again, looks like these chinese druga aren't working for me anymore. But luckily I can work. I hope someone will help with The translation of my book in English. Personally, I don't feel apt to do it myself. And no! No books on me, please. No one would read boring stuff like this haha!
