Favorite Spots

The journey from Kiabakari to Musoma takes about 30-40 minutes of moderate driving, as it is only 37 kilometers from courtyard in my mission to BP roundabout in the town center.  :)

There are two favorite spots along the way which always cause a shiver down my spine as I marvel at the beauty of the landscape. And the feeling does not diminish or weakens in spite of twenty almost years of driving down that highway...

The first one is the highest point of the road on top of the ridge overlooking Mmazami village in front and Mara River Valley stretching from right to left with Kuruya hills range sheltering the valley from behind...It is such a spectacular view, no picture (in particular - taken on mobile phone!) will attest to its stunning beauty...with everchanging lighting conditions, colors, clouds, mist, ambiance...

The second spot is almost at the same location but on the opposite ridge of the same range of hills dividing Makutano and Kiabakari Parishes. It is a place from which all Kiabakari Parish area (almost) is seen stretching down below with picturesque hills on the horizon...It is my favorite spot. I get this sensation of my car turning into a plane as the road suddenly drops behind the ridge and what I see is the sky and this marvelous landsscape below...i just wish to spread wings and fly above...wow!

Who says driving back and forth to Musoma again and again and again is boring???
