West Of Here

I've been reading a novel under the same title as the title of this post. And it fits perfectly to the description of the meaning of this day today. The official opening of the main water tank done by the representative of the embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tanzania this morning was a milestone in our quest to expand the development of the parish and its social institutions located west of the Divine Mercy Hill, while the tank itself was constructed on top of the hill to collect rain water from the Divine Mercy Shrine and from the main Mugango-Kiabakari-Butiama pipeline...

Jotting down these few lines, I feel overwhelmed and mentally tired by this event. Being short and simple, it weighed enormously on my psyche. We needed this tank for so many years and it proved impossible to accomplish this task. Finally, the German financial assistance constituted a decisive push towards this goal, and while Polish Aid laid down the foundations for the completion of this project by initial funding, the German help came as a golden goal which won the battle.

The importance of this tank is crucial. It will provide constant supply of clean water to our health center, pastoral center, sisters' convent and the center for education and formation.

I am deeply grateful to all those who participated in the accomplishment of this project. Thank you so much!

Today water flowed from the tank and the development of the western side of my mission premises has been enabled by the solid supply of water.

Thanks be to God Almighty and His people of good will!

Please, check the pictures I took this morning during our short celebration and the visitation of institutions which benefit from the water tank supply. The link to pictures is here.
