Below The Belt

This feeling is like being hit below the belt. Hard to absorb and accept. It will take time for me to recover. It just dawned to all of us here in the mission that the dire situation with the water supply in Kiabakari is incurable without undertaking serious steps into rectifying the situation. And the situation is tragic. I have a health center, pr-school and primary school, plus sisters' new convent and my rectory and now solid water supply. The water line we have been using so far has been congested with ever new customers being connected and located below our Divine Mercy Hill, thus making it impossible for water to reach our tanks...

For some time I've been trying to negotiate with water authorities to make extra effort to ensure that our facilities get water which benefit the whole local community using the health center and schools. It takes so much energy and is so unreliable (power blackouts, poor water lines conditions, pumps etc) that to get water on top of the hill is a real miracle...

I just finished an emergency meeting with my specialists and the only way we can rectify the situation is to lay a new pipeline from the main pipeline leading from the lake through the military camp in Kiabakari up to Butiama. I have just commissioned plumbers to come up with bill of quantities as soon as possible so I can start looking for funds worldwide to help us to survive... Otherwise, if we don't get rains in ample supply, I will be forced to shut down the health center and the school and sisters will be forced to continue staying in my rectory, and me hauling water from Musoma, 40 kilometers away, every other day or so for our own water consumption in the house.

Prayers appreciated if not financial aid possible.
